Focused on Growth: An Exciting and Promising Future for the CAATE
On behalf of the CAATE Commission, I am pleased to communicate exciting news that will enable the CAATE to achieve the strategic initiatives we have articulated for our organization and the continued enhancement of the Athletic Training profession.
The CAATE Commission remains focused on the future. To enable us to tackle the next steps in our growth, we have been exploring management options that will advance our mission and vision as we continue to evolve.
After considerable discussion and reflection, countless volunteer hours, and numerous RFP reviews and Zoom meetings to connect with potential management companies, the Board has chosen SmithBucklin as our new management partner, effective October 1, 2020.
SmithBucklin is the leader in association management, and they have extensive experience in providing tailored management and consulting services to more than 100 organizations, several of which include accreditation programs such as ours.
While the CAATE has sound and effective accreditation practices in place today, our partnership with SmithBucklin will help the CAATE achieve our mission to improve athletic training education, advocate for the AT profession and more effectively articulate the importance of accreditation as a means to ensure standards of quality in all aspects of the profession.
We have some significant opportunities ahead of us and the CAATE leadership strongly believes that this partnership with SmithBucklin is the right answer for us, and will allow us to serve our current and future stakeholders at the highest possible level.
As part of this process, I am pleased to introduce our Interim Executive Director, Christine (Chris) Murphy Peck. Chris is a member of the Executive Team at SmithBucklin and is an association professional with 35 years of experience in nonprofit management, strategic education program development and accreditation management.
We cannot do this without you – our colleagues around the globe who are working in partnership with us. You have my assurance that you will continue to feel the same connection to the new CAATE team. The team will include members of the current staff as well as new team members from SmithBucklin who bring expertise in specialty areas such as marketing, education and finance.
Stay tuned for further announcements about the transition, including the expanded staffing structure and official move to our new home headquartered in Washington, DC. Our new office will be located in the heart of Washington, DC, at 2001 K Street NW. In the meantime, please use the current email addresses and phone numbers to reach the staff team.
For additional information about the transition, feel free to contact me or reach out to Chris directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your continued support. We value you and look forward to our ongoing work together!
