Application and Annual Accreditation Portal Fee for Programs Seeking Accreditation
Programs interested in starting an Athletic Training Program and applying for CAATE accreditation will submit the initial application by contacting CAATE at accreditation@caate.net to request an initial meeting with staff. Program Administrators are encouraged to review the Standards and Procedures for Accreditation document. A yearly fee provides programs with access to the Accreditation Portal to enter student cohorts and complete the self-study. It is recommended that programs apply a minimum of one year prior to the start of the self-study. Programs will continue to pay the Accreditation Portal fee annually (including during the year of the comprehensive programmatic review) until the comprehensive programmatic review process is complete and the program has received an accreditation decision by the Commission. The program will then be invoiced the Annual Accreditation Portal Fee for Professional Programs listed below.
Access to Accreditation Portal Fees (invoiced August 1)
- 2025-26 $3,000
- 2026-27 $3,000
- 2027-28 $3,100
Application for Comprehensive Review and Fees (seeking or continuing programs)
The seeking or continuing application for accreditation services, and the associated comprehensive programmatic review fee, made payable to the CAATE, is due in the CAATE Office before the Self-Study is assigned a Peer Review Team. An invoice will be generated one month before the Self-Study due date (programs may request an earlier invoice to accommodate budgeting processes). The invoice may be paid by credit card via the secure link on the electronic invoice, or printed and mailed with a check to the address on the invoice. No program will be reviewed until the comprehensive programmatic review fee is paid.
The comprehensive programmatic review fee covers all expenses associated with the review including peer review team travel. Accredited Programs in a comprehensive programmatic review year are still responsible for submitting the Annual Accreditation Fee. Programs seeking accreditation are responsible for paying the annual Accreditation Portal access fee listed above including during the year of the comprehensive programmatic review.
