The time has come to nominate yourself or recognize an extraordinary colleague for the 2026 Pete Koehneke Award. This distinguished award honors individuals whose achievements and service have made a significant impact on the athletic training profession.
Nominations are due by Tuesday, March 31.

The Pete Koehneke Award
The Pete Koehneke Award honors an outstanding leader who has made significant, ongoing contributions of exceptional value to athletic training education and accreditation over a sustained service period.
Any individual associated with athletic training education or an institution or organization that sponsors CAATE-accredited programs can nominate for this award. To be considered, a minimum of 20 years of service to AT education or accreditation is required.
Nomination Process
Nominations must include responses to two questions demonstrating the nominee’s distinguished service to the AT profession and the CAATE, along with the name of one individual whom CAATE staff may contact for a testimonial. Both the nominee’s level and quality of involvement with the CAATE will be evaluated.
Nominations will close on Tuesday, March 31, and testimonials must be submitted to the CAATE by Tuesday, April 7.
