The CAATE Board of Commissioners approved a change to Standard 7 of the 2020 CAATE Professional Program Standards during the December 2022 Board meeting. The CAATE Standards Committee and Professional Accreditation Council proposed the change. The change is meant to clarify Standard 7.

Programs that have a three-year aggregate Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) examination first-time pass rate below 70% must provide an analysis of deficiencies and develop and implement an action plan for correction of BOC-examination pass-rate deficiency.
Annotation: This standard only applies in the event that a program is not compliant with Standard 6. |
Reminder
Programs utilizing the 2012 Standards will provide an analysis of deficiencies and develop and implement an action plan for correction of BOC-examination pass-rate deficiency per Standard 13 of the 2012 Professional Standards.
Future Outcome Measures
As announced in March 2022, the Standards Committee and Professional Accreditation Council have been developing a set of holistic accreditor- and program-defined outcome measures. The draft outcome measures are expected to be released for comment following the Board of Commissioners’ February meeting.
