The CAATE has new opportunities to get involved and make an impact on the profession. Getting involved helps you engage with your colleagues and support the advancement of the Athletic Training profession. The CAATE relies on the time and efforts of our passionate volunteers to meet our mission of facilitating quality outcomes, continuous improvement, innovation and diversity to enhance athletic training education. The following committees and councils are actively looking for additional members!
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Leadership Development Committee:
The purpose of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Leadership Development Committee is to recruit and develop the volunteers and leaders of the Commission with a deliberate emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion to intentionally promote and ensure a culturally proficient environment throughout the organization and our stakeholder programs.
Education Committee:
The purpose of the Education Committee is to identify, recommend, and support the educational activities of the CAATE. This may include, but is not limited to, Accreditation Conference sessions, educational opportunities for program directors, clinical education coordinators, and other program personnel at all levels of accreditation.
Foundation Advisory Board:
The purpose of the Foundation Advisory Board is to develop and implement an awards program recognizing continuous improvement and innovation and diversity initiatives within accredited programs, and to support student and trainee recruitment for accredited programs.
Peer Review Committee:
The purpose of the Peer Review Committee is to recruit, develop, and support the peer review volunteer corps of the Commission to perform comprehensive programmatic reviews, including self-study reviews, virtual and on-site visitations, for all program levels (professional, post-professional, and residency/fellowship) for both quality assurance and quality improvement purposes.
Professional Accreditation Council:
The Professional Accreditation Council oversees the accreditation processes for professional programs and makes accreditation action recommendations to the Board of Commissioners.
Residency and Fellowship Peer Review Committee:
The purpose of the Residency and Fellowship Peer Review Committee is to recruit, develop, and support the peer reviewer volunteer corps of the Commission to perform comprehensive programmatic reviews, including self-study reviews, virtual and site reviews, for residency and fellowship programs for both quality assurance and quality improvement purposes.
Residency and Fellowship Standards Committee:
The charge of the Residency and Fellowship Standards Committee is to review specific questions, provided by the Commission, related to the Standards for clarification and make recommendations to the Commission related to the standard language and bring forward suggestions as warranted for Standard revisions or new Standards to the Commission after receiving public comment on the proposed changes. The Residency and Fellowship Standards Committee works closely with the Peer Review Committee and staff to gather data and public comment on Standards that are new, unclear or challenging.
Review Committee:
The purpose of the Review Committee is to coordinate with Peer Review colleagues to prepare comprehensive reports following Peer Review visits, for all program levels (professional, post-professional, and residency/fellowship) for both quality assurance and quality improvement purposes, and to review rejoinders and progress reports.
Standards Committee:
The charge of the Standards Committee is to review specific questions, provided by the Commission, related to the Standards for clarification and make recommendations to the Commission related to the standard language and bring forward suggestions as warranted for Standard revisions or new Standards to the Commission after receiving public comment on the proposed changes. The Standards Committee works closely with the Review Committee and staff to gather data and public comment on Standards that are new, unclear or challenging.
