From conferences to connections, the CAATE has been busy! We recently attended the AMSSM (American Medical Society for Sports Medicine) and AAOE (American Alliance of Orthopaedic Executives) annual conferences in Kansas City and Atlanta over the past month. Thanks for connecting with us!

Toni Torres-McGehee and Kysha Harriell Honored as 2025 National Award Recipients
We would like to extend our congratulations to all the recipients of the 2025 National Awards, including:
- Toni Torres-McGehee, Ph.D., LAT, ATC, FACSM, CAATE Commission President: Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award
- Kysha Harriell, Ph.D., LAT, ATC, CAATE Commission Vice President: Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award and Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee's Bill Chisolm Service Award
The Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award recognizes NATA members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to leadership, volunteer service, advocacy, and distinguished professional activities as an athletic trainer. MDAT exclusively recognizes NATA members who have been involved in service and leadership activities at the national and district level. No other award, NATA or otherwise, is a prerequisite for eligibility for MDAT.
The NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee (EDAC) has presented the Bill Chisolm Professional Service Award annually since 1994 to recognize an individual who has contributed to the development and enhancement of ethnically diverse athletic trainers. The recipient is selected by the committee and is not required to be a member of an underrepresented ethnically diverse population.

In Q2, seven programs were granted approval of accreditations. Congratulations to the following program for achieving Initial Accreditation status in 2025 Q2:
- Abilene Christian University
- Albany State University
- Baptist Health South Florida Residency in Orthopedics
- Central Michigan University
- Northwestern Medicine/Northwestern University Residency in Rehabilitation
- Ohio University – OhioHealth Sports Medicine Residency in Pediatrics
- Saint Louis University

2023-2024 Analytics Report
This report describes Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited Athletic Training programs (professional, post-professional, and residency). Unless otherwise noted, the data included in this fact sheet were derived from the 2023-2024 Annual Report completed in October of 2024, data from eAccreditation software profiles at the time of Annual Report submission, and from information provided by the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) regarding pass-rate on the BOC certification examination for Athletic Trainers in December of 2024.
