The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) is pleased to welcome Christopher Ingersoll, PhD, AT, ATC, FACSM, FNATA, FASAHP as the newly selected Administrator Member Commissioner-elect. Dr. Ingersoll will assume the seat of Dr. Gregory Frazer at the conclusion of his term in the Fall of 2017.
Dr. Ingersoll is the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services at the University of Toledo. Dr. Ingersoll earned a BS in Sports Medicine from Marietta (OH) College, and MA in Athletic Training from Indiana State University, and a PhD in Biomechanics from The University of Toledo. His research has focused on the neurophysiological and neuromechanical consequences of injury, particularly relating to muscle activation, and the neurophysiological mechanisms of rehabilitation interventions.
In his role as the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services he has had the opportunity to work with more than 20 specialty accreditors. Throughout his career he has had the opportunity to serve as an undergraduate and graduate program director for both Professional and Post-Professional Athletic Training Programs. The Commission welcomes Dr. Ingersoll and thanks him for his willingness to serve.
